The National Congress of Australia’s First Peoples (Congress) was established in 2010 and is a national voice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Early in 2018 Richmond was the first sporting club to become a signatory to a National Congress of Australia’s First Peoples Accord, reaffirming its commitment to supporting Indigenous Australians.
As a signatory to the Accord, Richmond and the Korin Gamadji Institute, will continue to promote measures that advance stronger relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians.
The Club and the KGI will also promote the domestic implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
